Internet Initiatives
DEP strives for connectivity for every Idahoan and works towards expanding Internet access and affordability. Working to support statewide Broadband Internet initiatives under Link Up Idaho the DEP actively seeks to collaborate with local stakeholders for the expansion of Internet coverage while promoting cost-effective solutions across the state. The DEP's staff and AmeriCorps members help collaborate with Broadband Action Teams to support digital access in rural communities. Together, we are committed to working towards digital access for all Idahoans, regardless of their background or location.

Broadband Action Teams
Recognizing the crucial role of broadband Internet access in economic development and community empowerment, the DEP, in partnership with American Connection Corp, is working to establish Broadband Action teams across rural communities in Idaho. By collaborating with local stakeholders, including government agencies, businesses, and community organizations, the DEP is fostering a cohesive approach to address the digital divide. These teams initiate strategies to support the funding efforts and coordination needed to facilitate broadband infrastructure in remote areas. Through these concerted efforts, the DEP aims to bridge the gap and ensure that every part of Idaho has reliable broadband connectivity, unlocking opportunities for education, commerce, telemedicine, and more.
